For a chimney sweep in Cumberland, ON, Ottawa Precision Chimney Sweep cleans wood stoves and fireplaces, scans the flue and repairs caps, crowns and brick. Many Cumberland homes burn wood for real heat, so we also reline flues and rebuild old stacks. The crew works out of the east end, which puts Cumberland close, and the written price comes before any repair.

Cumberland is a short drive from our east-end base, so jobs here get scheduled sooner than in the far west end. These are the calls we get most:
Chimney cleaning in Cumberland is part of the fall routine, since a lot of homes use wood for heat, or as the backup that keeps the house warm when the power is out. A yearly sweep and a look at the liner are basic maintenance, not extras. We make the visit quick and leave the house clean.
Ask about booking the sweep, the cap check and any repairs for the same day. We did about 12 of those combined visits last fall. One roof trip covers all three, and in the country, where the nearest hardware store is a drive away, getting it done once matters.
Contact UsCumberland was an incorporated township from 1800 to 1999 and joined Ottawa in 2001. It runs east of Orleans along the Ottawa River, with villages like Cumberland, Navan and Vars, a lot of farmland and a lot of rural lots with wood stoves.
Cumberland has many older farmhouses with brick or stone chimneys built before anyone lined a flue. Without a liner, hot smoke and moisture attack the mortar from the inside. A stainless liner is the single best upgrade, and it makes an old fireplace or stove safe to use again. We have rebuilt about 8 farmhouse stacks in Cumberland since 2015.
The January 1998 ice storm left eastern Ontario without power for days, and many rural households put in a wood stove afterwards. Those stoves are now 25 years old, and the liners and stovepipes are often worn. A camera scan will tell you in an hour. In our experience, about one in three has a liner that needs replacing.
On open lots there is nothing to block the wind, and chimneys on exposed roofs take more rain at an angle. Flashing and cap damage show up sooner out here. We check both from the roof and tell you what the wind has done.
A stainless chimney liner in Cumberland costs $1,800 to $4,500 installed in 2026. A farmhouse with a two-storey chimney sits near the top. An insulation wrap adds $300 to $800. We price the liner, cap and any removal of the old liner on one written estimate.

Yes. Cumberland is close to our base, and the price you see is the price you pay, apart from HST. We do group the farther jobs with neighbours, which keeps the schedule fair. Tell us your road or concession when you call, and we will fit you in.
Usually. A camera scan shows us whether the flue is intact, and a lined, capped fireplace can last decades. If the brick is crumbling at the top, a partial rebuild takes it down a few courses and puts it back. The rest of the stack often stays.
If you have a wood furnace or an outdoor boiler, the chimney is a different kind of job. Tell us what you burn and where the smoke goes, so we know what we are looking at.
We climb up, look, and send you the price in writing. If a chimney needs nothing but a sweep, that is all you pay for.

Cumberland is close to our east-end base, so the wait is usually one to two weeks in spring and summer, and up to two or more in fall. If you burn wood for heat, tell us when you call, and we will try to fit you in sooner.
If you want to burn wood in it, almost always. An unlined farmhouse chimney lets smoke and moisture soak into the brick and mortar. A stainless liner is the single biggest safety upgrade you can make, and it makes the fireplace or stove usable.
Maybe. A 25-year-old stainless liner can still be fine, but a cheap galvanized one will not be. A camera scan shows the condition in an hour. If it is worn, we tell you and give you a written price for a new one.
Yes. If nobody uses the chimney and it leaks or leans, we can take it down brick by brick, patch the roof and close the openings inside. Removal costs $1,800 to $4,500, and it ends the leak risk for good.
